You know what? I’m just going to tell you the truth: there is such a thing as a perfect pregnancy.
The perfect pregnancy exists, all right. It just so happens to live online and online only. In the carefully-curated, beautifully-edited world of Facebook and Instagram, pregnancy is definitely perfect. But in real life? Pregnancy looks a little different.
Pregnancy looks like varicose veins and weight gain and back pain. It looks like debilitating morning sickness and broken sleep and swelling in your feet. In real life, pregnancy looks like total exhaustion and weird discharge and nothing fitting, ever.
IN REAL LIFE
Pregnancy might even look downright scary. Pregnancy might look like early contractions and babies born too early and so, so many fears and tears. In real life, pregnancy is anything but perfect.
Maybe you’re just starting out your first pregnancy feeling the pressure to have everything go perfectly. Maybe you’re stressing about doing all of the “right” things, like taking your organic prenatal vitamins and exercising enough and while you’re at it, making sure you’re not too stressed because that’s bad for the baby.
Or perhaps you’re hoping that your pregnancy will be perfect because it’s the only way you can enter the unknown world of parenthood with something good on your side.
