Whilst I was still pregnant, you may remember me writing about my new Miracle Blanket that I had stashed in my stockpile of baby swag.
I was really excited to try it out, A) because it was pink and I couldn’t wait for pink stuff again B) because I had used a swaddling blanket with Jake and loved it-literally to pieces.
The swaddle blanket we had used with Jake was a nice, warm fleecy one and unfortunately, it was in tatters because let’s just say, a dainty baby Jake was not. With Sara being born in early August, I wasn’t exactly going to wrap her in fleece, so the lightweight yet warm material on the Miracle Blanket was perfect.
Plus, like I said, it was pink.
The company sent me a free blanket to try out, which I was thought was super nice, since I’m not exactly an in-demand product review blogger (hi, Mom!) and because they aren’t paying me to write this post, I am free to share my honest opinion of it with you-and the verdict?
I seriously love it.
I love it so much, in fact, that I have deep-seeded anxiety when Sara spits up on it and I have to go through two laundry cycles before we can use it again. (The horror!) When I was packing to take the girls on a trip to Chicago when Sara was only five weeks old (click here to read about that craziness), I checked and double-checked that I packed it, and then had a panic attack again in the morning before we were going to leave just imagining what a night in a hotel with four kids and a newborn would be without it. *shudder*
Luckily, I remembered it and she slept great swaddled up to next to me in the hotel bed. Score!
Why do I love the Miracle Blanket so much?
It’s pretty simple, actually-I am a huge believe in swaddling. Working as an OB nurse, I’ve never come across a newborn who didn’t love to be swaddled and although I have the swaddle-with-a-blanket technique mastered, it’s still incredibly nice to have a blanket that does all the work for me in the middle of the night. The Miracle Blanket is foolproof and it makes it harder for her to unswaddle herself, too, so no escape artist tricks that result in her waking herself up = more sleep for me.
